Weekly Wrap-Up~ 8/16- 8/22/26

After doing monthly wrap-ups in 2025, I decided to go back to weekly wrap-ups for 2026. I’ll be linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer, and Sunday Salon hosted by Readerbuzz. I’ll also be linking up with Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality, and with It’s Monday, What Are Your Reading? hosted by The Book Date.

Life
This was a weird week. I feel like I was able to be really productive in some ways, but not so much in other ways. I accomplished several things around the house, but I fell behind on the blog and reading. I only finished one book this week, but I did start quite a few, including one really long one (30 hours audio), and several others that are between 11-15 audio hours. The average length I read is usually between 8-10 hours. Hopefully I’ll clear through some more books this week and catch up on my posts.
Other than that, things are pretty good. Mom had a last minute appointment added this week to check her pacemaker because her monitor wasn’t working (everything’s fine, there was a code entered incorrectly in the monitor so it wasn’t reporting). I was a little crushed to discover I had lost more strength than I thought over the last few years when I could only do 5 modified push-ups, but hopefully I’ll be able to build some of that back. It seems like not that long ago I was walking 7 plus miles daily and doing P90X, but in reality it was around 10-ish years ago and a lot happens between 45 and 55.

Great book lists! Thanks for sharing.
My list isn’t as impressive. I won’t share it all, but I’m currently reading “Shelter” by Harlan Coben, and a Tarot guide book.

I am glad that your mom’s appt was a no big deal one. 🙂
You have lots of good books upcoming! I have The Escape Game in my pile too!
What a relief to discover your mother’s pacemaker is working just fine. And you are in the middle of a host of interesting and enjoyable-looking books. I hope the coming week is a good one:).
That’s good news about your mom’s pacemaker. Whenever I get around my friends these days, we have what we call an “organ recital,” a listing of all the organs that are giving us problems!
