Seasonal TBRs??

Over the years, I’ve seen many bloggers put together “seasonal” TBRs for each month. They either focus on the actual season, a holiday, or a national monthly designation. I’ve always wanted to do something like that, I actually tried to do a smaller version where part of my TBR fit a category, but never really committed to it. But I want to.

Right now, my focus is on getting through as many books that I can from my two out-of-state libraries before those cards expire, so I’m not even attempting any themes, just moving to the next book in line. But, I do want to shift into seasonal TBRs once I’ve cleared out my current list. I am figuring this will be in 2027, so still several months away, but this is my plan.

January– Self-Help/Dry January: all non-fiction/memoirs/essays

February– Black History Month: all Black authors

March– Women’s History Month: all women authors

April– Arab American Heritage Month: all Arab authors

May– Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month: all Asian authors

June– It’s All About Pride: all LGBTQIA+ books

July– Disability Pride Month: all stories featuring disabled characters and/or by disabled authors

August– ARC August: all ARCs (DRCs & ALCs)

September– National Hispanic Heritage Month: all books by Hispanic/Latin authors

October– Spooky for Halloween: all paranormal (ghosts, werewolves, etc.)

November– Native American Heritage Month: all Indigenous stories

December– It’s the Holidays: all Christmas/Hanukkah themed books

Some months will be incredibly easy to fill my TBR, others will take some research and searching (and a bit of luck that the library will have the books available). I’m going to start pulling together a list of potential books for each month now.
